Paul Harlan Janda, DO, JD, FAAN, is a board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Headache Society, American Epilepsy Society, Neurocritical Care Society, and also has a directorship role on the American Heart Association. 

Dr. Janda has been repeatedly awarded with the distinguished Top Doctor Award and Top Neurologist Award. Dr. Janda is a consultant neurologist for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the Las Vegas Raiders. Dr. Janda works at Las Vegas Neurology Center, a center with ongoing research in stroke, vascular neurology, headache disorders, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, dementia, and cognitive disorders.

Dr. Janda has always eagerly served his community and patients. Dr. Janda is teaching faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, Touro University College of Medicine, and is an adjunct professor of neurology at other medical schools as well. Dr. Janda authors board review questions in the field of neurology and is a member of the governing body for neurology board certification. Dr. Janda comes from a family comprised of generations of physicians. Dr. Janda was raised in California, where both of his parents are physicians. Dr. Janda completed undergraduate coursework at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Janda graduated from the University of California at Berkeley as a double major with two degrees, one in Psychology and the other in molecular and cell biology with an emphasis in cell and developmental biology, where he was on the Dean’s List. Following that, Dr. Janda volunteered as a full-time research assistant at the Norris Cancer Hospital at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Janda earned his medical degree from Touro University in California, where he also was on the Dean’s List. He completed his internal medicine internship at Valley Hospital Medical Center locally. Although he was accepted into the highly competitive neurology residency at the University of California at Irvine School of Medicine, Dr. Janda decided to complete his training locally at Valley Hospital Medical Center so he could treat and build relationships with the Southern Nevada community for a longer duration. Further, Dr. Janda completed a transcranial Doppler and cerebral blood flow monitoring fellowship at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. Thereafter, Dr. Janda completed the neurovascular interpretation program at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. Janda also obtained his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. Dr. Janda’s wife is also an attorney. Dr. Janda is the first and only Board-Certified Neurologist-Attorney in the State of Nevada. Dr. Janda is deemed a Legal Expert in Neurology and a Legislative Expert in Neurology. Dr. Janda received the Power Lawyer Award and the Lawyers of Distinction Award.

Importantly, Dr. Janda is the Program Director of the Neurology Residency Program at Valley Hospital Medical Center and the Director of Neurology and Stroke at two large Hospitals in Las Vegas. Dr. Janda trains the neurology resident physicians on how to become thorough, board-certified neurologists. Dr. Janda lectures regularly on a variety of topics in neurology. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Janda understands evidence-based medicine as he is committed to providing his patients with the state-of-the-art care and up-to-date guidelines for the practice of neurology.

Dr. Janda is licensed to practice medicine in both California and Nevada and is board-certified in neurology. His resume includes many volunteer activities and numerous research publications. Dr. Janda is very interested in community service and educational activities as he continues to be involved with neurology board reviews and ongoing research publications.

When he is not treating and managing neurologic issues, Dr. Janda enjoys spending time with his family, reading, volunteering, and hiking.
