Dr. Sharlene Jeffers is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and credentialed health service psychologist originally from southern California. She completed her undergraduate education at New York University where she majored in psychology. After graduating, she worked as a researcher for the Molecular Imaging and Neuroscience Department (MIND) at the New York Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University. She pursued a master’s degree in mental health and substance abuse counseling at the New School for Social Research and was exposed to clinical neuropsychology in both theory and private practice. 

Dr. Jeffers completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology at Howard University. During her studies, she Howard University Hospital’s Division of Geriatrics, lending her neuropsychological expertise for several clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease and healthy aging. She was awarded the inaugural Trotman-Reid Dissertation Fellowship for her research developing normative data on cognitive screening measures for historically underserved geriatric populations, particularly the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. She tackled serving new diverse populations when completing her predoctoral internship at the VA-Nebraska/Western Iowa Health Care System, participating in additional rotations in polytrauma and rural psychiatry.

Dr. Jeffers moved to Las Vegas to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Cleveland Clinic-Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, with a focus in assessment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, movement disorders, vascular dementia, and multiple sclerosis. She has served as a clinical supervisor for clinical psychology graduate students, most recently for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas clinical psychology program and has been an instructor for courses in the psychology department.

Outside of the office, Dr. Jeffers enjoys spending time with her husband, angry cat, and rescue dog. They enjoy traveling, hiking, and being foodies.
