Cynthia’s healthcare career started in the U.S. Army where she served two tours in Iraq as a combat medic. After leaving the military, she attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she obtained a bachelor of science in biology.
To further her interest in medical sciences she started taking graduate coursework in basic biomedical sciences, but ultimately decided to return to healthcare. She attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for her BSN. She has since worked as a nurse in emergency department, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiac step-down. While working as a nurse, she also attended school through the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama to become an advanced practice registered nurse. Cynthia is a certified nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
